EVPunjab is built on structured data — vehicle specs, prices, charging stations, dealers and policy details — not just written articles. This page explains how that data is sourced and kept honest.
Source hierarchy
We prioritize sources in this order:
- Primary — government departments, official policy notifications, manufacturer specifications, official charging-operator information.
- Secondary — reputable news organizations, established automotive publications, recognized industry bodies.
- Community — user reports and forum/social leads. These can point us to something worth verifying, but never become an authoritative fact on their own.
What we track per record
Where practical, every price, specification and charging-station record carries its source, when it was retrieved, when it was last verified, and a confidence/status label (for example “official” vs. “estimated” for prices). Pages show a “last updated” or “verified” date where that distinction matters.
When sources disagree
We prefer the primary source, note where there’s genuine uncertainty, and don’t silently overwrite a disputed value with a new one — the goal is to be honest about what we do and don’t know, not to project false precision.
Pricing and range figures
Prices are time-sensitive and labeled accordingly (official, estimated, or starting-from) — never presented as a fixed, current, official figure unless it is one. Range figures are labeled as claimed/test-cycle numbers versus real-world estimates and are never mixed together silently.
Collecting data responsibly
Before any automated collection, we check robots.txt, terms of use, and API/licensing availability. We don’t bypass technical access controls, and we rate-limit and cache responsibly where automated collection is used at all.
User-submitted information
Anything submitted by a reader (a charging-station correction, for example) is treated as unverified until we’ve checked it — it doesn’t go live automatically.
